Class: Foundations of Drawing:  The Still-life

Immerse yourself in the beauty of form! In this observational Foundation drawing class, you will become skilled in the art of seeing and proficient in drawing what is before you. Emphasis will be placed on simplification of the subject, accurate blocking-in of elemental shapes, and sensitive rendering of light and shadow. You will develop a strong understanding of the elements and principles that are the foundation of art-making, while gaining insight into the history and future of the still-life. For the students interested in pursuing Drawing as their pathway in the arts, this class will be followed by Foundations of Drawing: The Head.
